Which cloth diaper system is best for me?

Prefolds and Covers - If you would like to save the most money, you can't go wrong with Prefolds and Diaper Covers. Prefolds are those flat diapers that you fold around baby and then use a waterproof diaper cover over. This is the diapering system that you would use if you had a diaper service, so they are widely used. The old fashioned way of doing it is to use diaper pins but we don't even need those anymore - you can use prefolds and a good fitting cover without pins, or you can use a Snappi fastener.

Fitted Diapers and Covers - A step up from prefolds and covers is Fitted Diapers and Diaper Covers. Unlike prefolds, fitted diapers have elastic around the waist and legs and either snaps or hook-and-loop closure. Very easy to use and one big advantage over the next step below, is that if the cover is not soiled after use, you can re-use it again before throwing it in the wash.

Pocket Diapers - If you would like something that is still affordable and works a little more like disposables, especially for babies who are cared for by family or daycare, then we recommend Pocket Diapers. Pocket Diapers are easy to use and are very popular. They can be customized to the needs of your baby - just put as many absorbent inserts in the diaper that your baby needs. And because the "shell" can be separated from the absorbent part, they dry ultra fast.

One Size Diapers - The most popular diapers we sell are the One Size diapers. One Size Diapers generally fit baby from birth through potty training. BumGenius One Size and Happy Heinys One Size are our #1 sellers, also popular are the Baby Kangas. Some one size diapers are AIOs (see below) and some are pocket diapers - but both are extremely popular for their practicality and affordability.

All in Ones (AIOs) - All-in-Ones are the closest thing to disposables in terms of how they go on baby. Very convenient for outings and special occasions where convenience is important! Not the most economical choice, but if you want super duper easy, this is for you.
